Maybe it’s you, former procrastinators, maybe it’s your husband who pays the bills. But both should know how and be familiar enough with your personal system that either could step in and do the job if necessary. Even with many things on auto – pay these days, there’s still much to be aware of. Could you take over the job of bill-paying at your house?
If not, it’s time to learn the ropes and at least sit with your husband as he explains what he does. Take notes you file in an appropriate place for reference. Do the job yourself this month as hubby supervises and you learn more about being a wise financial steward.
My aim was to pass on links that were not connected to sales. Please forgive me if I missed something. Do your own research, but maybe these will get the ball rolling at your house.

Thank you for sharing all this practical information and all the sources. As a daughter in my household, I have been learning these past few years to manage a few family matters and still have a long way to go, but it teaches me how important (and complex!) it can be, and am glad to help my family even with small things! My mom has done a great job immersing me little by little so that, in case of an emergency, I can be prepared. A precious treasure to have a mentor like that.

Andrea, this is wonderful! You and your mom are very wise. You set a good example for the rest of us.
