Happy 2026! Happy New Theme!
Happy New Year, former procrastinators! Welcome to the fresh opportunity of a new year. It’s a chance to develop a new perspective, learn something new, take action we have not yet, ETC! It’s also an opportunity to steady ourselves on the path that is already right and persevere in diligence where we’ve learned to apply it.
We’ll find benefit from continuing “steady on” and from new adventure in our theme for 2026. Early deliberations on this topic have encouraged me already.
Our theme is “Abide in the Vine.”
Is this a concept you think you’ve mastered? Or at least you’re very familiar with it? Remember, we’ll be coming at it as women repenting of procrastination and moving into diligence. That will give us a different perspective than perhaps we’ve had before – and with new applications
My friend Ana remarked recently that she’d been pondering Jeremiah 6:16:
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
The prophet was addressing Jerusalem regarding future siege. Through him, God was instructing His people at a critical and dangerous time to remember the truth they’d been taught from old. He urged them to apply that truth to the choices they made. If they put their feet to His good way, they’d find rest for their souls. Sadly, they refused His way and His rest.
Along with that, I think of Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
God is providing Jesus. There is new hope.
We abide in the vine – an “old truth,” a familiar one. With the Holy Spirit whom Jesus sent to dwell in us, we have hope and refreshment for the new things God wants to do in and through us – because we abide in the vine.
Our lives as believers are like both. As we sink our roots for nourishment into His ancient truth – or, for our analogy, as we cling to the vine – the Lord will produce new life in and through us.
What “old truth” do you need to hold onto? What “new thing” would you like to see in your life this year?

This is timely for me! new things coming, but hoping to remember the old paths too. Thank you for these lessons
