A New Year, former procrastinators! And a new theme to boost us toward diligence. A new beginning sparks ideas, determination, and hope. A new pair of socks even puts a spring in my step. A new book, a new calendar, a new friend open possibilities for us. I think God as Creator and Renewer of…
Did you say “Yes” to God in 2022, former procrastinators? Have you carried through? My prayer is that you did say “yes” and are deeply glad. I’m reviewing to see where I still need to make good. Dropping procrastination and becoming diligent is a change process. It’s part of our sanctification. A need to change…
Now, the senior years, former procrastinators. Do they seem far away? Inching closer? For some of us, here we are! And how did we get here so fast? Particular saints in my life – women in their 70’s, 80’s, 90’s – have shown me what it is to be green, growing, full of sap in…
Those middle years, former procrastinators, were stretching. A husband gone several days a week, homeschooling, helping care for parents in another state, children stretching their wings. Joys and challenges. During those years each area was intensely demanding. And God was intensely faithful. Looking back, I see increased dependence on Him, much evidence of His protection,…

Happy Fall! It’s my favorite time of year, former procrastinators. What’s yours? I like crisp air, crunchy leaves, snuggly sweaters, reds, yellows, and oranges in the turning trees. Those leaves fall. It all changes. Where there has been green and hot weather, there will soon be bare limbs and cold air. Each season holds a…
Next to our kitchen table, former procrastinators, hangs a copy of a picture by Joni Eareckson Tada. It’s the profile of a fisherman in rain gear, wide-brimmed hat pushed up in the front. He’s lighting a pipe and looking outward. That picture energizes me. The fisherman is not making the best decision for his health…
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
Proverbs 6:6-8
. . . you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.
Colossians 3:9-10
