Having a particular time, former procrastinators, to give thanks as a nation helps us remember Who it is that we thank. We thank God Almighty. All the ability we have to “produce” and to prosper comes from Him. All we receive comes from Him. His mercy and grace have made possible all we are blessed to enjoy.
This year I am especially grateful for:
Salvation in Jesus Christ through whose mercy I am forgiven of my sins and sealed by the Holy Spirit to be the Father’s own child.
The unchanging truth God has established. It remains no matter what.
The study in Revelation that has utterly confirmed the return of the Lord Jesus, the defeat of evil, and the wonders that lie ahead for believers in Christ.
My husband, Carol P, and others who help keep this blog going.
May all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
My list is longer, but let’s concentrate on Who it is that we thank.
“Yours, O, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
“And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.” (1 Chronicles 29:11-13)
