Talk 1 “Where There’s Smoke‚Ķ” (the foundation: recognizing procrastination, roots, effects, scriptural perspective, general aids) Talk 2 “Dousing the Fire” (strategies for change) Talk 3 “Fire Prevention” (forming new habits).
Two, I invite you to tell me what you believe would benefit you in this blog. What would you like to see here? I am not the source of knowledge or wisdom. Like you, I know the One who is. As I learn, I can share.
The Lord in His grace and mercy is moving me out of procrastination and into diligence. The effects are tremendously encouraging. It seems as if I have more time; I do have more margin and more time to play. I’m learning to value and make more time for rest. I rush less, tend to more priorities, enjoy life more – and my husband is happier. I have a whole lot to look forward to!
Some of you have told me of changes you’re enjoying. Hallelujah! Tell me also, what are some things you would like to see in the blog? Part of my growing could be seeking to serve you in those ways.
In general, I plan to continue a mix of devotional-type posts and “application” and “tip”-type posts. The devotional posts address our hearts and minds. That’s where the major battles are fought in this war. I get my best help when a scripture shines bright light on procrastination and diligence. As we submit ourselves to the Lord for change and learn to put on the “new man” in our hearts and minds, our actions change.
The “application” and “tips” posts contain things I’ve learned, read, or heard that I share with you. I used to gravitate to such articles in magazines, yet I never made any progress because I hadn’t addressed the heart and mind issues that bound me to procrastination. Now that I’m no longer bound to choosing procrastination, I find many “applications” and “tips” beneficial. I appreciate anything that simplifies life and enables me to concentrate where I most want to focus.
