When we gather at our table, former procrastinators, we find it thought provoking and humbling to read something that reminds us that our blessings come from God. He is the One we thank in prayer.
We’ve used different selections over the years. It helps to print out or mark in the Bible whatever you choose and to review it days before. Maybe these will spark some other ideas as you consider your celebration:
- Passages from the Psalms such as 46, 47, 100, 103 or from sections of Job 38-41 which exalt God.
- Verses of a hymn such as Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
- Proclamations honoring God. These links are for Governor Bradford and President Washington:

What would you say in your own proclamation?
