Now that we’ve “eaten our P’s,” former procrastinators, we can experience the Pleasure of a home that’s more enjoyable, simpler to function in, and easier to share with others. It’s a place where we can more easily relax – even mentally. We have the Pleasure of being Positioned for the months we’ll spend indoors and especially for the holiday season. The road is clear.
Certainly, I am not the Holy Spirit. Maybe He used the October posts to prompt you as He did me. What plainly-visible item did you deal with this month? What items did you tend to that were in your daily path? What “plaque” did you remove? What “placed-and-forgotten” item did you uproot from its long-held hideout? Good for you! Using the Pathway Approach daily (no extra effort) we can enjoy freedom regularly and avoid a build up of the other P’s.
Yes, we’ve dealt with excess stuff before and we’ll have to do it again. That’s part of life in a land of abundance and as our needs change. But reminding and cheering for each other creates a little fun.
Plus these reminders: The Lord takes pleasure in His people. (Psalm 149:4) It is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13) He is pleased when we are faithful in small things. He wants us to participate in His joy. (Matthew 25:23)
Tending to such jobs as we have this month is part of walking out (not earning) our salvation. That’s especially true for folks like us with a bent to neglect or put off such things. When we submit to the Spirit’s prompting to act, we receive His strength to carry through and get to experience delight in a job well done. We’re often affected by our surroundings to the point that we allow them to hinder our responses to the Lord when He prompts us. Procrastination prevents godly fruit. What joy to take pleasure in His presence and say “yes” to Him!
What successful “P” accomplished this month pleases you most?
