Our 2025 Theme

5Jan

Happy New Year, former procrastinators!  Isn’t it a pleasure to receive a new calendar year?  It’s kind of like breathing fresh air.  May the Lord bless you mightily this year – especially as we all meet the challenges of being diligent women.

Matthew 9:20-22 has been simmering in my brain for several weeks.  Verse 22:  “Jesus turned and saw her.  ‘Take heart, daughter,’ He said, ‘your faith has healed you.’  And the woman was healed at that moment.”

There are many rich layers of observation to make about this account.  However, what has gripped me for us is how Jesus saw, perceived the situation, and acted.

See —  Jesus stopped and really looked at the woman.  He saw her.  He recognized her.  Not that he was acquainted with her, but He recognized her as a person He needed to give attention.  He was compassionate. He didn’t say “Oh, it’s only you” and turn away.  His gaze and His attention dwelt on her.

Perceive  –  Jesus understood her need.  He immediately processed who and what was before Him and His own responsibility.

Act  –  Jesus healed her.  He ministered to the woman and made her well.  He met the need before Him.

Our new theme is “See. Perceive. Act.”

Jesus was not overwhelmed by His circumstances or the demands He faced.  He cared to the point of action. He didn’t say, “This is more than I want to deal with” or “You’re inconvenient.”  He didn’t say, “Catch me later” or “Make an appointment; I’m busy.”  Praise God for a Savior who really sees us, understands our needs, and is all sufficient to meet our needs.

There are great changes ahead for us as we keep this in mind.  It’s already affecting me.

Now, I have a request for you.  What topics related to procrastination would you like us to address?  They do not have to fit into this theme.  And, I am not the answer lady.  However, we can raise issues and tackle them together.  Please tell me in the comment section or email me privately. [email protected].  Thank you very much.  I really look forward to hearing from you!
