Happy Thanksgiving! – Proverbs in Practice
Happy Thanksgiving, former procrastinators!
There’s a praise song that says “give thanks with a grateful heart…” May that be each of us. It’s possible to murmur “thank you” out of habit or good manners. But we are so blessed by God that our hearts can overflow with deep gratitude as we focus very intentionally on thanking Him. This week we observe a national holiday that reminds us to focus on His sustaining goodness to our forefathers. Thank you, Lord, for your strong arm, evidenced in so many ways in our lives.
This year, I’m especially grateful for
- God’s sovereignty. He remains in control even when things appear otherwise.
- The book of Revelation that encourages us to faithful endurance and assures us of His return and the heavenly home awaiting believers in Jesus Christ
- The certainty of biblical truth.
- A growing desire to see Him glorified
- Family who are close by to enjoy
- The joy of grandchildren and the privilege of influencing them for Christ
- God’s moving on behalf of our family
- The ability to communicate with dear friends and family far away
- Prayer warrior friends who have lifted us up to the throne of grace over and over
- Our study in the book of Proverbs which has opened my eyes to several areas where I need to change and grow.
- The book and workbook Regaining Surrendered Ground by Jim Logan.
- My good friend and her witness as she walks through cancer. Her joy, her gratitude for God’s goodness, her confidence in Him to heal her whether here or in heaven, and her keen desire to glorify Him are a beautiful testimony to His love.
- My husband, Carol, and others who keep this blog humming along
- Each of you ladies. You encourage me by prodding me to think and to apply myself to becoming a diligent woman. We can pray for each other, rejoice in our growth and victories, brush each other off when we stumble. Having you sisters with me in this walk is invaluable. Thank you!
What is your heart especially grateful for this year?

GRATEFUL TO BE RESTING MORE AND MORE IN WHO HE IS VS. WHAT HE DOES. JUST WANT MORE OF HIS PRESENCE!
Oh, that’s good, Kristin! May we all so rest.
Thankful for so much. Thankful for your words that help direct me. Thankful for my family. Thankful for saving grace.
Thankful for you, Lynn! And Amen!
