Sometimes, we’re forced into action, former procrastinators. We don’t get to rest, listen, meditate, then act. The Lord allows or designs an outside force to move us. The Spirit says “Now.” That’s it for me at this time. We have more people here, so we can use more space. The space is here, some of it’s just filled with “stuff” I haven’t dealt with. Yes, we could pile everything up, but so much better to remove the excess and utilize the space well. A few carloads have gone to donations. Yea!
But something large remains. More photos. Some of you may recall that a few years ago I tackled our photos in a big way (starting with nine garbage bags of photo trash). Then I was able to make two large photo albums and organize the remaining photos for more albums to come. We digitized backups. At that point, I had to focus elsewhere. Now photos loom large again. They are in the way. It’s past time to deal with them.
So, I am. I’m turning the dining room table into my work area. Using the space right inside the front door will move me to action so the table can be clear again as soon as possible. My goal is one album done by August 31 and another by October 31. (I wanted to say September 30, but decided that was unrealistic.) I also have distant family to find, photos to mail, and other related odds and ends.
I’ve decided to simplify greatly and just “git ‘er done.” I’m telling you because if you know, then I have to act. Please, hold me accountable.
Do you feel something forcing you to act? See it as a blessing. Maybe you won’t do it as perfectly as you’d hoped – but it will be DONE. As former procrastinators, we remember: Done is better than perfect. Amen! Maybe the last days of summer will be just the time for you to polish off a job you’ve set aside. Rejoice!
What job do you have in mind to finish before school starts?
