Merry Christmas, former procrastinators!
Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the promised one God sent to redeem us. He saves us from the penalty of our sins and gives us His righteousness so we can live eternally in heaven with Him.
The Jews of His day were waiting for a Redeemer – but He didn’t come in the form they anticipated. We get to look back and see that the tiny baby became our mighty Savior. That is the Redeemer they – and we – needed. But there is more.
Jesus is coming back!
When He returns, He will come as the Warrior King! He will complete the destruction of evil. He will reign forever.
“Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!”
“Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 7:10, 12, 11:15)
Oh, let us bow in anticipation and worship!
