Frankly, fellow recovering procrastinators, I am the last person who should address the topic of margin – except from the needy perspective. I even think I have to sleep fast. The Lord is really working on me regarding this topic. Let’s see if I can illustrate life without margin so I can better communicate the…
He Is Risen! Our Loving God is Mighty! Holy! Good! Jesus Christ is Lord! Because He is risen, we can be former procrastinators. Jesus was fully God and fully man. While He lived on earth as a man, Jesus had a human frame. That means He, too, needed rest as did His disciples. “Come aside…
You probably knew it was coming, former procrastinators… I’ll say it: Clutter is a major rest buster. We’d like to cover our ears and block out all those piles and stacks that call to us in mocking tones, “Yoo hoo! Here I a-a-am! Gonna clean me up?” Clutter drains us. Because it shouts for attention,…
Another rest buster for us recovering procrastinators can be the frustration that comes from unmet expectations. We so firmly believe something will or should happen that it throws us for a loop and stresses our coping skills when it doesn’t. Need a little rest? Yes! God says we do. We say, “Can’t stop now.” “After this is done.” “No time.” Used habitually, those responses disregard…
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
Proverbs 6:6-8
